Are you looking for an affordable venue to host a workshop, meeting or event in North Edinburgh? Interested in running activities for the local community in Granton?

So far we have hosted community open days, painting workshops, exhibitions, yoga, bookbinding classes, garden sessions, group meetings and family workshops – we’d love to hear your proposals for the space!

There are 3 rooms available to hire at Madelvic House:

The Sphinx (Large Room): Suitable for large group activities, with natural light, plug sockets, tables/chairs and projection screen available.

Medium Room

The Madelvic (Medium Room):

Medium sized workshop/meeting space with lots of natural light. Tables/chairs are available and a sink/kitchen facilities are conveniently located in an adjoining room.

The William Peck (Small Room):

A smaller, well-lit room with chairs and tables available.

*Wifi is available in all rooms and projection facilities can also be arranged.

Accessibility – A ramp is available for wheelchair and power chair access to the venue, however there is currently no wheelchair accessible toilet in the building. The planned building work, which is likely to take place in 2018, will make adjustments to the layout of the building to ensure it is fully accessible.

Room hire fees:

The Sphinx (Large Room): £15 / hour, £25 / half day, £50 / full day

The Madelvic (Medium Room): £15 /hour, £25 / half day, £50 / full day

The William Peck (Small Room): £10 / hour, £15 / half day, £30 / full day

The fees above state the maximum charge for room hire at Madelvic House. We do have a ‘sliding scale’ approach to room hire, meaning that room hire costs are open to discussion depending on the nature of your event.

We are really open to working with local groups and hosting activity by and for the community at Madelvic House. In particular we are interested to hear from local groups and individuals offering free or low-cost activities for the local community.

‘We hire a space in Edinburgh every summer to accommodate our small, creative, post graduate level classes in Performance Design. This year we are basing ourselves at granton:hub for 4 weeks.

This is an ideal venue for us, with a good light space, desks and tables, wifi and access to projection facilities. There is also good bus connections to different parts of the city and free parking available.’
