Madelvic House and its surrounds is owned by Edinburgh Development International (EDI), an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) engaged in property management and development for the City of Edinburgh Council.
In November 2013 EDI approached the Granton and District Community Council seeking a response to their initiative. The result of their approach was the formation of a group of local volunteers eager to explore possible community resource roles for the property. A consultative process led to an Open Day event held at Madelvic House on 9th May, 2015. Following this event, interested parties formed a steering group which was constituted on 1 June 2015 and which was named granton:hub on 23 September 2015. Since then granton:hub has been working closely with EDI to develop a proposal for the future sustainable development of Madelvic House.
granton:hub is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, its charity number is SCO46708 .
