Artist statement:

I have been painting in watercolour since 2017.
My watercolour paintings presented in this exhibition show landscapes and still lifes. My
paintings are high contrast in terms of colour and they are of well defined images. There are
elements of abstraction in my work. My style can vary between tighter and looser, from the
immediately recognisable to the abstract.
I use the medium of painting to convey the enjoyment I feel looking at the patterns made by the
interaction of natural forms, man-made objects, and light. Thus far, I paint from a real, rather
than an imagined, image.

I have exhibited my paintings at The Studio, 4 Abercorn Road in June 2017, Penicuik Arts Association Cafe in July 2019, Granton Hub in October 2019, Granton Hub in September 2022, and Penicuik Arts Association Cafe in March 2022
