Isn’t nature stunning! 🌳 This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme this year is connect with nature.

The environment has always been a large part of what we do at granton:hub. Our community garden is not only a place that provides a piece of nature within the city but is also a place that is welcoming and opens up the opportunity for learning new skills and meeting new people.

If you feel you need some time to connect with nature we have some tips for you:

🌳 Stop by our community garden to enjoy the sights. Our community garden is directly behind our base at Madelvic House at the end of Granton Park Avenue. Our community garden came to life in 2017 and was designed by Here + Now Landscape Architecture Studio in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh with biodiversity and maintaining existing habitats in mind.

🌼 Buy a wildflower plant for your home. Did you know we have a wildflower nursery? We grow native wildflowers from seed ready to be purchased at an affordable price. If you are interested in finding out what wildflowers we have on offer, please email wildflowers@grantonhub.org to see the list and purchase some plants. Currently, we are running a click and collect service so you can come by the garden to pick up your new plant at a time convenient for you.

🌿 Join our gardening group. Do you want to get out in the fresh Scottish air, enjoy nature and do your bit for your community? Why not become a garden volunteer at granton:hub and learn some new skills and meet new people? The garden group meet on Wednesday’s between 11am and 1pm and all volunteers of all levels of gardening skills and time commitments are welcome. If you would like to come along, please email wildflowers@grantonhub.org to express your interest.
