granton:hub would like to invite individual artists and makers, as well as artist collectives and community groups to use Madelvic House as the location for their next exhibition.
This call is open to all Artists and Makers: painters, printmakers, photographers, textile artists, ceramicists, jewellers, composers, poets, new media artists to exhibit and showcase their works. The theme for 2021 will be ‘age of recycling’ and we welcome proposals for artworks that are (1) either entirely made up of recycled materials (2) incorporate recycled elements (3) or take the inspiration from what recycling means.
Granton:hub will make available the community garden (for temporary installations) and the main exhibition room free of charge. Artists will be charged a commission of 20% for every piece sold. We give preference to proposals which include an element of community involvement, eg. through local school(s) or groups.
We anticipate time slots at the end of April and June, a group exhibition in August and October/November, and an arts market in December all subject to COVID restrictions.
The October/November slot will mark the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) and we welcome proposals to reflect this theme.
