RBG centreThe History Hub has contributed to the Edinburgh Shoreline Exhibition at the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Using artifacts from our own Granton collection, the RBGE created the central focus of the Shoreline exhibition.

The exhibition explores the rich natural and cultural heritage of the 27km shoreline which runs east from Queensferry. It celebrates Edinburgh’s relationship with the sea today and aims to create a vision for the future.

As well as showing buildings and the history of parts of the shore (including how Granton was for two decades the centre of marine biology based in the “Ark” in the flooded quarry by the harbour), it has involved local school children in a creative project to knit our local wildlife.

The exhibition is held in the John Hope Gateway (west entrance). Entrance is free and runs until 23 September 2018.
